ECS Inc. International is a global leader in manufacturing frequency control microchips. Hufft designed their 14,000 SF U. S. headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas to present a future-focused identity and help build a strong corporate culture. The design team made a bold impact through strategic design interventions within a standard spec warehouse facility. Inspired by micro-technology, the office environment references electronic circuits in custom carpet patterning, glass wall partitions, and in the playful use of lighting conduit. The most impactful design intervention is the large stadium seating installation in the atrium. Now a multi-purpose zone, the gathering space offers opportunities for company meetings, client events, and large-scale demonstrations. Hufft also served as the contractor for the project, building the facility in 16 weeks and completing it under budget.
