Brightwater Culinary School is the academic division of the Northwest Arkansas Community College. Hufft’s Northwest Arkansas office, located near downtown Bentonville, designed the project to be more than a typical cooking school. Dubbed, A Center for the Study of Food, the space provides training for multiple professions in the world of food. Over 28,000 square feet, it is located within the 8^th Street Market food hub revitalization project. Hufft design features to note are the plate ceiling installation at the entrance to the school – over 750 white dinner plates attached to the ceiling eliciting light and shadow patterns – and the custom wayfinding system which celebrates modern abstractions of culinary elements.
