Merge Residence _ 2014
Under One Roof
We designed the Merge Residence for a young couple, a mother with one daughter who had recently married a father with three sons. The residence celebrates the joining of two families into one. The concept of unification drove our design in programming, space planning and defining the building form. Distinct elements merge together throughout the home. On the exterior, a traditional Prairie Village roof meets a series of minimalist white boxes. Inside the home, a light, elegant material palette contrasts a heavy black palette. The residence features a long, covered entryway, native plantings and a generous poolside patio.
