Springfield Tourist Center _ 2009
A Gateway to The Ozarks
As part of a collaborative effort Hufft was awarded the contract to design a new building to house the Travel and Tourism Bureau for the City of Springfield. The concept for the building draws upon Springfield’s historically agrarian past and its present industrialized state. The agricultural roots are represented by the form of the barn, while the base of the building is representative of the progress toward industrialization. The two forms are superimposed representing the importance of each to the local economy. The materials of the building also relate to the natural surroundings of the Ozarks and many of the local tourist venues. These images represent Hufft’s capabilities in rendering and 3D visualization.
