We’re proud to share that the 8th Street Market has received a 2018 Merit Award from the AIA Gulf States Region.

Located in Bentonville, Ark., this multi award-winning project transformed a blighted Tyson Foods processing plant into a community-focused food hub. Anchored by the Brightwater culinary arts school, 8th Street Market is home to a variety of restaurants and retailers, as well as craft brewery Bike Rack Brewing Co. The market is the first phase of a 55-acre master plan for Bentonville’s Market District, and has been a catalyst in redefining the district as community destination.

Comments made by Honor Award jury members commended the 8th Street Market project for its “thoughtful attention to materials” and “intelligent response to a complex site.” In conjunction with AIA’s 2018 Conference on Architecture, the Gulf States Region celebrated the Honor Award winners at a reception in New York City in June of 2018.
