Kanning Orthodontics featured in Healthcare Design Magazine

When Dr. Neil Kanning was in need of a new facility for his growing practice, he wanted his new orthodontics office to look nothing like one. We designed a facility around the goal of forming an exceptional patient experience.

The building sites on a wooded site and is oriented to maximize both the daylight that comes in, and patient views out. Clean lines speak to Dr. Kanning’s precision and quality of work. Natural wood was used as an accent at the entry, and extends inside for added warmth. The main exam bay is connected to the administrative spaces via a glass walkway, and contains 6 chairs, a gabled ceiling and exceptional views.

“One of the biggest things when building this practice, and the actual building and the design, was to try and make it feel as little like a dental office or a medical facility as possible,” said Dr. Kanning. “Nothing hanging over the patient, no bright lights – all of these things are about making that individual visit as pleasant as possible.”

We were honored to see this project featured in the August issue of Healthcare Design Magazine. A photo tour was also published on Healthcare Design’s website.
