Inspired by Nashville’s iconic music scene, the design for Polsinelli’s Nashville office takes its inspiration from the shape and lines of a finely crafted acoustic guitar. Flipping the typical instrumental concept on its head, the idea was for the space to feel like the interior of a guitar. Users would experience the form, color, light and sounds as if they were inside the instrument, while maintaining the elegant and restrained design characteristics similar to Polsinelli’s other offices.

Curved walls clad in walnut wood veneer follow the lines of the waist and bout of a guitar. In contrast, the floor and ceiling are intentionally left white and seamless to further emphasize the curved walls. The main feature in the space is the communicating stair. Its elliptical shape draws inspiration from a guitar’s sound hole, while the stainless steel vertical pickets pull inspiration from the guitars strings. The open office space has a playful ceiling and pops of bright color, which like a guitar strap, connects the reception space from one end to the other.
