Here’s a video of our shop charring ash planks for the hostess station at Corvino Supper Club. This is an ancient Japanese technique known as Shou Sugi Ban, which preserves wood by charring it. The process evokes the idea of cooking with fire while also adding texture and depth to a dark finish.
