“Pure design muscle” – Humboldt Fitness Center featured on Curbed

The vision for the Humboldt Fitness Center began as an amenity for employees of B&W Trailer Hitches, and quickly evolved into a place for the wider community. Located less than a half mile down the road from B&W, connecting the facility to the industrial manufacturer was a driving component of the project.

The agrarian-inspired building’s bold and modern metal work commands attention from every direction. Diamond-shaped panels, fabricated by B&W, cover the east and facades. Custom canopies sweeping across the north and south ends were cut by B&W’s industrial tube laser.

The interior is a stark contrast to the building’s industrial exterior. Warm wood tones create a welcoming place for visitors to prioritize health and wellness. It is equally inviting for third-shift factory workers, out-of-town guests and business executives.
